JBL MK08 8" 150W Karaoke Passive Speaker
JBL designed MK08 as a two-way full-range speaker for use with KTVs. To realize exceptional acoustic performance, two large 8" woofers and two 3" tweeters are used, as well as low distortion, high power, and good electro-acoustic conversion efficiency. We designed our 8" woofer for high power handling, featuring a non-pressed long fibre pulp cone with foam surround, resulting in enough durability and stiffness while handling electromagnetic forces. To ensure minimal distortion and power compression, a demodulating aluminium ring is fitted. Due to their lightweight and, most importantly, the ability to reproduce high frequencies brightly, smoothly and with excellent dispersion, two 3" paper cones are used to reproduce the high frequencies. In order to achieve maximum power distribution between low and high-frequency transducers, a precision-engineered crossover is used. In order to further improve the coverage and sensitivity of the speaker, the cabinet that supports the tweeters has been designed as a V-shape. To mention again, it is a type of passive speaker.
