The Rode's M3 is a highly adaptable end-address condenser microphone that may be used in the studio, on stage, or in the field. It can be used for guitars, drums, percussion, or even voices as an instrument microphone. The M3 is equipped with a heavy-duty metal body and an internal shock-mounted 1/2" condenser capsule for end-address. It can be powered by P48 phantom power or an internal 9V battery. Recording of powerful sound sources, such as a guitar amplifier or snare drum, is possible thanks to a -10 dB and -20 dB volume attenuation (pad) selectable from inside the battery compartment. Even better, a high-pass filter, configurable on the microphone power switch, reduces low-frequency sounds and handling noise by introducing a filter at 80Hz.
