RODE VIDEOMIC PRO Rycote Compact Directional On-camera Microphone
The Rode's VIDEOMIC PRO is a real shotgun condenser microphone designed for use as a primary and reference audio source with camcorders, DSLR cameras, and portable audio recorders. The VideoMic Pro is powered by a brand-new 1/2" condenser capsule with an exceptionally low self-noise of just 14db that delivers broadcast-quality audio via a 3.5mm mini jack connector (outputting the mono signal to both left and right channels). A super-cardioid polar pattern further reduces background noise while focusing your video on the subject in front of the camera. Even better, the capsule and electronics are separated from their mount by an integrated Rycote® Lyre® based shock mounting system, which provides isolation from external physical elements that could create undesired rumbling and vibrations in the microphone. The Lyre® is made of a single piece of tough thermoplastic that delivers improved acoustic suspension over standard elastic alternatives.
