ZOOM H4N-PRO Handy Recorder
The Zoom's H4N-PRO is an audio accessories with high-resolution sound performance in mind. The H4N-PRO features the same low-noise, high-performance mic preamplifiers found in the company's renowned H5 and H6 Handy Recorders. It can also record and playback at resolutions of up to 24-bit/96kHz and has an enhanced noise floor for capturing low-volume audio with few artifacts and vanishingly low noise. Even better, it can tolerate up to 140dB SPL, making it ideal for capturing performances ranging from a calm chamber quartet to a pounding metal band. Stereo mode is perfect for capturing acoustic instruments, dialogue, live performances, and more – covering a broad stereo spectrum while capturing clear, defined sound sources in the center — using the H4N PRO's built-in XY mics (or external ones). The angle of the two unidirectional condenser mics can be adjusted from 120 to 90 degrees for a larger or more narrowly concentrated image. Zoom has also integrated an onboard M-S decoder for mid-side recording with external mics, allowing you to modify the breadth of the stereo image in post-production. You can further use the built-in microphones and record in 4-channel mode.
